PROJECT ROOTSCOMIC SERIES: MEGAMI SHIIZUN
For fans of the series, they'd say it started in 2016. But in fact, it started back in 2000. There's no other project I know as well as this one. It's been a part of me for most of my life. The story for Megami Shiizun started in High School. I'd often would be seen writing in my Hilroy notebooks and doodling during breaks and lunches, with my friend Myriam reading over my shoulder as I wrote. Unlike most stories I've written, this one was re-worked, re-written, re-designed so many times in 12 years, until the script was just right and the designs we're ready. As I felt that it was a story I had to share with others. The comic everybody knows now, is a product of 12 years of preparation and 4 years of creation. The first issue was self-published in 2016. Since then, I've published a comic every year (with the exception of 2020), and will start to work on my 9th issue in the Summer of 2024. Megami Shiizun is now available in store at: The Comic Hunter in Moncton, NB Heroes Beacon in Saint John, NB BUNNY GOES MOO
Surprisingly, not as old as Megami Shiizun. Bunny Goes MOo illustrations started in 2005. At the time, I enjoyed creating random illustrations for holidays and sharing them on Deviantart. I ended up striking gold with my Christmas drawing that year. The simple Christmas illustration is now my most sold greeting card. It's not until my mom pitched the idea in February 2006, that I should make greeting cards with these types of illustrations and try selling them. Thanks mom. It exploded. With the years, I've produced less illustrations, but it doesn't mean I'm not creating new ones. It's just a matter of time and the right idea. |
